Tanja Thani, MSW, RSW
Whether you’re seeking couples counselling, support for neurodivergence, or help navigating stress, trauma, or relationships, I offer therapy that fosters resilience and meaningful change.

My Approach
I love being a social worker and psychotherapist, and I feel grateful every day to be welcomed into people’s lives. For me, there is nothing more meaningful than being part of someone’s journey of growth and healing. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups from a Relational and Gestalt lens, where we pay attention not only to words, but also to the ways our bodies and actions tell the story of what matters most.
Over the years, I have worked with neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, mental health), complex trauma (childhood abuse, domestic violence, sexual violence), stress/burnout, being "functional but miserable", anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief and loss, separation/divorce, self-defeating behaviours, addiction, identity issues, and career challenges. I am trained in multiple modalities of therapy including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical (DBT), relational, Gestalt, emotion focused therapy (EFT), somatic and more.
I appreciate working with couples, relationships, and families. Since healing happens in relationship, the shifts we create together in session often reach far beyond the therapy room. You spend more time with your loved ones than with your therapist and when those relationships become more supportive and connected, it can bring lasting changes to your life, the lives of those you care about and to your community.
I’ve worked in many different settings and carry with me a deep belief that there is no single “right” way to heal. I am always learning and growing alongside my clients, and I see therapy as a collaborative space where curiosity, care, and respect guide the way.
