About
Professional Ethics

Professional ethics are meant to convey a clear message that members of a profession should behave morally and appreciate the ethical dimensions of their work. They communicate particular understandings of ethical practice and construct certain ways of being, relationships, and behaviours as more valuable than others.

Karma will discuss the historical and theoretical contexts that inform professional ethics and provide a critical overview of their strengths and limitations. The webinar will conclude with a brief description of alternative ethical approaches that complement professional ethics and may assist social workers in navigating their complex practice contexts. This webinar lays the foundation for subsequent webinars that will delve further into the field of professional ethics and ethical practice.
