My Background and Approach
Kathy Guindon, Social Worker - Psychotherapist
I'm a psychotherapist registered in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. I've worked with people for over two decades helping achieve their goals for well-being and success.

I specialize in providing individual therapy to clients ages 12 and older who are experiencing a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, school/work problems, stress, trauma, and grief.

Because I am highly trained in several evidence-based therapies, I can tailor my approach to fit people's unique needs and goals. I primarily draw from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I recently completed training in another trauma-based approach called Deep Brain Reorienting. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to assist people to develop more helpful thinking and coping patterns.

I love my work and I approach it collaboratively and in a client-centered way. I work collaboratively with clients to foster a supportive and non-judgmental relationship where clients can feel safe and heard.

I am available to meet with you online in Ontario and Nova Scotia, and for in-person sessions in Newmarket and Bolton, Ontario.
